Feeding Program
Empowering Communities to Support the Elderly
At the heart of our efforts in Malawi lies a commitment to lifting people out of poverty in a sustainable way. However, some groups, such as the elderly, face greater challenges than others. Often, it is the grandmothers who bear the burden of caring for their grandchildren with limited resources. After a lifetime of hard labour, they no longer have the ability to work the land to provide proper care. To help address this issue, we have launched a short-term program that provides food assistance to the elderly and impoverished. Our long-term goal is to cultivate community-based care, with rural farmers becoming more productive through our training centers. With this approach, we hope to empower communities to take care of their own elderly and create a brighter future for all.
At Present, we are:
Here are some of the impactful initiatives we're proud to support:
We supply meals to 250 senior citizens in the community.
We provide weekly meals to 250 children in need.
We train senior citizens to compost, an eco-friendly practice that helps reduce waste.
We teach elderly individuals how to cultivate vegetable gardens, promoting healthy living and sustainable food practices.
At our training programs, we offer more than just knowledge – we provide an opportunity to give back. By cultivating and harvesting crops, we can donate to those in need in our community. As an added incentive, we purchase extra maize and soybeans from our farmers who consistently participate in our training to contribute to these efforts.
