Sponsorship Program
Our Sponsorship program is one of the most effective ways to positively impact the lives of underprivileged families. Monthly sponsorship enables us to provide employment opportunities, which in turn help our trainees to develop various skills. We firmly believe that offering a helping hand is far more beneficial than simply providing a handout.

My name is Gloria Anthony and I am an apprentice in the Preschool Department at Mitongwe Woodland Farm Reserve. I am twenty-seven years old, single, with 2 young girls. Living in rural Malawi is extremely challenging, especially in our remote village.
My favourite part about working here is observing our children in the preschool program enjoy the wonderful selection of toys and variety of books. I love the importance of my job because our children become leaders.
I am looking for a chance to train as a nurse to contribute to the medical needs of our community and promote my personal growth. I am eagerly anticipating the construction of the Health and Wellness Center, as it could potentially offer me a job opportunity in the future.

My name is Lynot Nyadaufe, and I am an apprentice at Mitongwe Woodland Farm Reserve. Despite never having the opportunity to attend school, I am grateful to be here and learn new skills. Working at the farm and being part of the Housekeeping Department has been an incredible experience. The managers and leaders at Mitongwe have been a great source of practical advice and support, which has had a positive impact on my family. As the sole provider for my large family, it’s difficult to find steady work in our village, and the farm’s income has provided much-needed stability.
I love working at Mitongwe and being part of the Community Kitchen. We cook meals every day for the kids. We use water and fire stoves to make delicious food with our own branches. The kids bring their own colourful bowls and eat happily. Their smiles are the best reward for me.

My name is Joseph and I am an apprentice in the Security Department at Mitongwe. I am married with two children.
A typical day in our security department can start as early as 4 am. Our security team is scheduled on shift work 24/7 throughout the week. We patrol all over the farm; livestock, living quarters, community buildings, and equipment all while keeping a careful watch on our crops. Our team helps deter theft and ensure our resources are used to their full potential.
My favourite part about working here is observing the operations of the Agroforestry department and in particular how the livestock and animals play such an important role in the success of the overall woodland ecological system.

Letness Thambani is a 38-year-old apprentice, married with three children, working at Mitongwe Woodland Farm Reserve. Despite her grade 5 education, Letness has excelled in her role as a General Laborer, thanks to the valuable practical advice she receives from the farm’s managers and leaders. She has found that the steady income from working at the farm has had a significant impact on her family. As a single mother of three children aged between 10 and 17 years old, Judith works hard to support her family. She loves her job as it provides her with an opportunity to work with her team to prepare nutritious meals for the programs offered by the Community Kitchen. The kitchen is situated in the Mitongwe Town Square and is open seven days a week. Judith and her team work on rotation shifts to ensure that they can share the load of their daily tasks. They cook on several open-fire stoves made from cement blocks, using wood fuel harvested from the property. The youth and pre-schoolers who attend the programs are served a meal of heated maize flour in a colourful bowl or cup, which always brings a smile to Judith’s face.
In addition to her work, Judith loves attending church programs and services. The church is located in the Town Square and is surrounded by beautiful trees. It is a hub of activity throughout the week, offering daily discipleship training and weekend services. The church also serves as a meeting place for senior citizens and vulnerable villagers, providing them with essential food programs. Judith loves the atmosphere of the church, which is full of song, dance, and learning to love God, oneself, and others.

I am Kondwani, a 32-year-old married father of two wonderful kids, a boy and a girl. I never had the chance to go to school, so I am very thankful for this amazing opportunity to learn new skills. The work I do in the livestock department is vital for the farm. The animals are a key part of the woodland ecosystem. I am gaining so much knowledge about animals and that makes me happy! I love the environment here. But the best part is that I earn a stable income so I can provide food for my family. I also get to taste many different fruits and vegetables that I want to grow on my own farm someday.
