The container has finally reached Malawi after a long and adventurous journey across the sea and the land. We praise God for the protection and guidance and we pray for His abundant blessings on all those who will benefit from the contents of the container.
Creative Fundraising
Margaret Bandstra, fondly known as 'Oma', found a unique way to support Stand as One Ministry – by selling her stunning paintings. At a recent family reunion that brought together over 90 of her eight children, 29 grandchildren and over 55 great-grandchildren, Oma put up an art show, displaying more than 20 of her works of art. Family members were invited to buy tickets for $2 each to bid for their favourite paintings. The tickets were sold out quickly, and the bidding was both exciting and fun. On the final night, the paintings were distributed to the lucky winners, raising an incredible $944.00 for Stand as One Ministry. Oma's story serves as an inspiration to all of us to use our talents to make a positive impact in the world.
Prioritizing Nutrition for Children in Our Preschool Program
We understand how critical proper nutrition is for our young students. Their diet, primarily consisting of maize, is insufficient to support healthy growth and development. To address this, we have implemented a plan to provide additional nutrients. By monitoring their weight at regular intervals, we can assess the impact of this initiative. Not only does this give us valuable information, but it also helps the children feel important and cared for.
Another Successful Weekend of Sports for Our Teams!
Our young athletes had a blast playing their weekend games! Not only did they get to learn new skills and work together as a team, but the time they spent on the field provided them with hope and excitement for the future. For many of these kids, soccer is the highlight of their week since they don't have other planned activities to look forward to. Our coaches also go the extra mile to offer words of encouragement as well as to share their faith with the players. All in all, it is a great opportunity for growth and development.
