Youth Fun

The construction of the Dehydrators is now completed and all are functional, which is most exciting. The citrus was picked off our trees, and their juice was used to coat the banana slices for our first batch. All systems go!

Dan also had the opportunity to give a presentation to about 40 people from the neighbouring communities on our food program, touring the working dehydrators as food is starting to be stored up for hunger season. They all tried dehydrated bananas, papayas, ginger, turmeric, chilli peppers and lemongrass for the first time. They were thrilled with the opportunities this could bring to their community.

Young Warriors

The young participants had a great time acting out the “Parting of the Red Sea”, with much enthusiasm and passion. Then the practical gardening training finished the day. Our next gathering was a morning Bible Story session, with the children enjoying interactive crafts, singing and reciting the Ten Commandments. They were also treated to a cup of warm bean soup, which is always a highlight.

Days for Girls

Irene once again had the chance to distribute reusable menstrual pads to teenage girls. Leaders from “Days for Girls” delivered an informative talk on menstruation and hygiene. The girls were so thankful and thrilled to learn, and to receive the kits.

Sports Ministry Outreach

Even with pouring rain, the children have a blast during our Sports Team Leaders’ Outreach Program in their village. They eagerly come from all corners to join in the fun activities, including games, singing and storytelling.

Our Container is on its way

The hard work of collecting, packing and loading is complete. Goods were gathered for Cyclone Freddy Relief, as Blantyre was heavily affected by flooding. The Cure Hospital in Blantyre will also be blessed with donations, as will our Health and Wellness Centre in Mitongwe. There is also shelving and packaging for the Dehydration Centre, goods for the Preschool, bikes and more and more.

Thanks so much to the volunteers at Victoria Resource Warehouse for all their skill and energy. The container was en route at the end of April, with an estimated arrival in 3 months. Our need for funds to ship all these necessary products was quick and complete. Thank you So Much to all who donated to transport this valuable container.
