Successful Moves In and For Malawi

This month saw us reap the hard work from our Move4Malawi participants, and saw Dan land in Malawi to join the hard work constantly in process there.

Our Successful Move for Malawi

We raised $65,705.00

We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in and donated to our Move for Malawi! Your commitment to getting involved will create life-changing impacts for the most vulnerable individuals in our Mitongwe community. With the support of 40 athletes, we raised an incredible $65,705! Wow! None of this would have been achievable without the dedication and generosity of all who stepped up!

We were blessed with some creative new ideas. These young ladies ran a lemonade and flower stand in Abbotsford, raising $178 for Move4Malawi!

What a great day in Smithers for Move4Malawi! We had a fantastic turnout for our one-day event, which included a 45-kilometre bike ride, a 10-kilometre walk, and a delicious lunch. The team put in a tremendous amount of fundraising effort and successfully raised $18,465! Well done, Smithers!

Dan is in Malawi

We have had a busy month here with Move4Malawi, and in the midst of it all Dan left Sept 7 for Malawi and our Mitongwe Farm. He will stay until Dec 7, with Irene joining him in mid-October. What does he do for all that time you might ask?

Whew, there are existing programs that may need evaluation and updating, and there is new and ongoing development that must be overseen and directed. Such as…

We are in the process of completing a Cold Storage Unit where produce will be stored as it waits to be Dehydrated. We are developing a Health and Wellness Center that is nearing completion, which means it’s time to hire staff. Dan is busy interviewing candidates and organizing the training schedule and procedures. Our Agroforestry Team has implemented Training Gardens, prepared for the rainy season, set up produce markets, and maintains an ongoing feeding program for our preschool and children’s programs, to name a few highlights. Furthermore, a weekly Leadership Training session commencing to assist the Village Headmen and Chiefs in better understand their roles in helping their villagers succeed.

Roaming the farm and seeing the produce we will harvest is unbeatable.
